So my friend has a a mid 2000s VW GTI Turbo. And some other kid at my school has a Mid 2000s Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged, and there has been some talk about a race between them. There has been several different Opinions on who will win, but we came up to the conclusion that it would be a good almost even match. I would like to hear some opinions who who the victor would be.

GTI: Stock Turbo, CAI, 18' rims, Custome Exhaust.

Cobalt: Stock Supercharger (rumors of a few mods but nothing big)

Cobalt would annihilate the VW if both are stock or slightly modded. The VWs have the 1.8 turbo. Ive raced the same thing but the audi version (A4 turbo). I went from being behind him to passing him by 50 and could have put a length or two on him if it werent for traffic. I wouldnt stand a chance against a cobalt SS tho. They are faster than you would think.

Cobalt without a blink. Unless he's horrible and ruined his car with his light mods. All a cobalt needs is a slight tune and they are golden.

 

Cobalt would win. If the race has turns though....

 

Cobalt for sure...and note the Supercharged Cobalts are actually slower than the 09+ Cobalt SS, which are Turbocharged vs Supercharged. The even new Turbo Cobalts make an additional 55HP over the supercharged version. So let you GTI fans know that if the supercharged version can beat them, the turbocharged Cobalts would kill them. hahahaha...
