i love the push button start on my focus and often thought about trying to get one and install into the monte......

To do that you would probably still need a key to complete passlock then use the button to complete the circuit

Yeah its not worth the hassle to install I done it on my old GMC and as far as Microsoft the only system they have in cars is SYNC and all it does is allows it phone to be connected and make calls so highly doubt it vehicle will shut down if that acts up

Opening up in my pocket is something that would seriously bother me. With my luck, it would open up and bend or break. And I'd be S.O.L. until I get the spare key.

Not to sound anti-technology. Because I do work in the tech field. But I like Mike said, the less things there are to go wrong in my car -- the better.

I wouldn't think the switchblade key would be compatible with 2000-2005 Monte's would it? With our ignition keyswitch being slightly inset from the surface of the dash. I looks like our keyswitch is set in just far enough that you wouldn't be able to put the switchblade key all the way in.

At least it looks that way to me. But then again, I haven't actually had the switchblade key in my hands to try it myself.

Has anyone with a 6th gen Monte gotten a switchblade key to work?
