If this happened just the way the guy says it did, I support him 100% If I found out someone beat on my car like that, I'd be pi$$ed off too.

Maybe it's just me being overly skeptical. But we all know of people who have made up stories on the internet just for attention. For one reason or another.
I sadly could not play the video (so I have more to be skeptical about, I can't even hear the "proof").

I agree with your statements. If the claim of abuse is true, I hope the guy gets satisfaction. If he's looking for his moment to shine and pin false blame on someone, well, let's hope he's not making this up.
But with how little decent recorders are and how well modern mics are, it's "possible" that it could be true. Most garage shops don't shield a lot of acoustic sound.

I'm sure if it's true, more will come out.

Default Best Chevy

EASLEY, S.C. – Best Chevrolet has purchased a debated 2010 Chevrolet Camaro today and will auction of the vehicle for the March of Dimes in the coming weeks.
The vehicle in question has been the focus of a recent viral video created by a local man. The person who brought the car to the dealership secretly recorded discussions between two employees and later released a portion of the audio on the internet. Today, Best Chevrolet is releasing the entire 30 minutes of the audio to give the full version of the situation.
At the end of the tape, he drives the vehicle in a similar manner to the one that he complains about. He drives the car just as hard. A car of that style needs to be driven hard to test for the problem he stated. It is a high performance car and is not likely to be damaged in such a way.
In his own words, his vehicle already had been damaged at another location.
The vehicle in question was not originally purchased at the dealership nor ever worked on at Best Chevrolet. The vehicle was brought in for a diagnostic in September, but no work was ever recommend or performed.
Best Chevrolet takes all customer complaints seriously. The dealership prides itself on reputation and service. They are pleased to say we have reached a deal that ultimately will serve local charities

'Best Chevrolet has purchased a debated 2010 Chevrolet Camaro today and will auction of the vehicle for the March of Dimes in the coming weeks.'

That's a very noble gesture...if it were genuine. The only reason you're doing it is for damage control. If this situation had never come up would you still be auctioning a vehicle and donating the money to charity?

'At the end of the tape, he drives the vehicle in a similar manner to the one that he complains about. He drives the car just as hard. A car of that style needs to be driven hard to test for the problem he stated. It is a high performance car and is not likely to be damaged in such a way.'

You're kidding, right? You're actually trying to excuse and justify the actions of the employees by pointing a finger at the owner claiming he drives it the same way? The manner in which an owner drives a vehicle is not an open invitation for any repair facility employee to treat a car that way. I fully understand running a vehicle through the paces to determine the xause of a problem, but that employee was beating on the car. That's a diagnostic procedure I'm not familiar with. How does the way the owner drives his car justify the employees action of attempting to commit fraud?

'The vehicle in question was not originally purchased at the dealership nor ever worked on at Best Chevrolet.'

I'm having a difficult time understanding the logic of this statement. What does this have to do with anything? Are you saying that a customer is treated differently (badly) if they didn't purchase a vehicle from you or have prior work done in your shop?

If you wanted to impliment some effective damage control you should immediately terminate the employment of everyone involved in this abusive act and attempted fraud. Buying the vehicle for above blue book is a nice touch. I sure hope you also offered a sincere apology to the owner...more sincere thean this lame excuse you offered up trying to justify the actions of your employees...
