I honestly don't remember if it's the stock alternator or not lol. I've done alternators on basically every car I've owned it seems haha

Its strange how first the battery, and now an alternator... I just spent $179.00 on a lifetime alt for the Silverado... It was an unexpected expense. Is it ever convenient? Me thinks not! Lol.

I'm starting to look up replacement alternators. PM me Zen if you do find one randomly. I will probably order tonight/tomorrow from Amazon so I might have it by Wednesday since it should be a nice day.

I don't have a sound system or any additional strain on the electronics, so I will go with a stock replacement.

Mike - if you recall, I had the HD alt (cost about $50 more). To be honest my biggest pet peeve was the non-stock mounting of the wire you have to hold with a nut. It worked fine, but was overkill. I've since gone to a stock spec alt.

Well, my saga continues with body shops, insurance and my Monte. But I am in touch with a guy that I think may help lead me to the end of this mess. A former neighbor who still works for a local body shop. He's going to talk with his manager Tuesday. This guy is more OCD about his cars then I am about mine. I shoulda called him in the first place.

 

Afternoon guys. Just got home from work a little while ago. Had a catastrophic mechanical failure on the line. So I stayed to help first shift. At least it's the weekend now.
