The link is for a 6th Gen Monte Carlo, 2000 they got it wrong. There is a reference to one of 24 being wrecked and that Mrs. E had one. But why would she purchase one when she could just drive it as a Demo unit? Check it out they want $32,500.00 for this thing

States that it's not one of the GM production cars from 2000-05, so that means that this one, or all 24 of these tribute cars, had to be pre-production cars. It also states that the one Mrs. Earnhardt had was the one that was wrecked.
I always have my doubts about these special dealership issued cars. It seems to me that i've seen a lot of Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet dealership special issued cars for sale over the years. A lot more than there should have been if they were that rare and special. I suspect they issue 24 special editions, sell them, then order another 24, repeat...
This one does seem a little different if it is pre-2000 i guess

Brochure
Back in 1997 my wife had an accident with a Train it took our Mini-Van up the Tracks about a quarter of a mile. It was in December and we were experiencing an ice storm. Don't tell anyone but at that time I owned a Ford Aerostar this was one of the side effects of living next door to the folks who owned the Ford Dealership in our town. So I wanted to get a Monte Carlo then, when I called Dale Chevy in Newton,NC to check about getting a 97 Monte Carlo. They only made 25 of them at that time. If you purchased the Car Dale signed it and they said I would also get tickets to the Race in Rockingham, it was a weekend package.
So it is a legit car but they just don't know how to list it properly.
If I can I will put in a Brochure for this car with this post.

Okay, I see what they did this one has been on Ebay for sale before maybe 2 to 3 years back. It had the same Mass. plate on it then.
If i recall the story correctly this was something that Dale Chevy did starting in 1989/1990 they began with the Lumina coupe, Camaro's and S-10's followed. Kind of a unique feature for Fans and to sell some Chevy's too. I can't find anything that they did this with the 4th Gen Monte Carlo. They may have done a test on it back then? The first time I saw these is when it was advertised in the Goodwrench Racing Report that I subscribed too.
