hopefully gettting a 3 car garage
Been looking into this a bit, and it seems like I'd have to make some other tradeoffs to do this. With the price range we're looking at- getting a 3 car garage means we seem to lose about 400-600 square feet off the house, AND 3-6 years on the age of the house- at the same price level. I'm not sure if its worth it to me to take both of those hits in trade for an extra car garage. Looks like I may end up going with a 2.5 car or an otherwise oversized 2 car since those seem to fall in the same price range, sq ft, and age as other 2 car garage houses.

I think part of the problem is, most of the houses in our price range are in subdivisions with fairly tightly spaced houses- so getting a 3 car garage with a little bigger house also seems to mean a bigger (or oddball) shaped lot.

I'll keep looking, no big rush right now- I'm sure we'll wait a few months anyways to get some extra money saved up.
