I think 18 is probably a reasonable age but I'd guess that most salesmen would just go off of their initial impression of you? I was offered to test drive a '13 Mustang GT while my truck was getting worked on a couple weeks ago. I personally loved it.. Still debating between a Stang GT or G8 GT

Then again, I was having work done at their dealership and they had the keys to my truck, all my info. on file, etc. so... lol. The salesman never even asked for any details really, I just told him I might be interested in trading my truck for one after I pay it off, or possibly just buying one. He let me take a look at one and asked if I wanted to take it for a spin. Obviously I couldn't refuse. So he went and got the keys to a GT (he originally showed me a V6 premium ) and we went for a little drive. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought. I assumed they'd need a full background check before allowing me (20 years old) to even sit in a car of 30k+ value, I was wrong though lol.

I think if you just went in there and told them you're interested in a particular vehicle, I'm sure you'd be able to test one out. Having a parent with would be plus maybe? As long as you don't look like a 13 year old, no offense if anyone here does lol, you should be good. And I'm sure they'd want to see your drivers license if they're not familiar with you. Of course they wouldn't just let you take it for a spin by yourself but even with a salesman it would be worth it so you have a better idea what you will be paying for

I test drive vehicles all the time.

I'm very polite, I make sure my vehicle is clean before I go. I dress in a nice fashion (all the time) and I just talk to people. I don't go in and say I want to test drive this! I just simply start looking around, when a salesman comes up, express interest in the car and then get offered my test drive.

I have to chuckle....
When i was younger I use to go into dealerships and hope I could test drive....something....I guess they wouldnt even consider it since I was rideing my bicycle...

Nowadays...The moment I walk in the door...a salesman is on me like
I was there saying Trick or Treat! So, once in a while when i get really board I go to my local chevrolet dealer and see whats cookn on the showroom floor...Even though they have offered me a few test drives...
I know me all to well and will wanna bring it home wth me...

But My favorite most car I have ever owned:
Was a 65 GTO, with a 389 Tripower, rockcrusher 4 speed, It was Metallic Gold with Black leather interior..and turned 10:50's in the quarter mile stock from the factory! God how I loved that Car..It was a real head turner...Capped off with the "A Typical" Cragar SS mags on all 4 corners!
Mickey thompson Indy 50's on the rear..
and the sound everyone was after....Full duals with Cherry bomb Glasspacks! Theres no other sound out there like it! The ratatatat(hard to put in words the sound it made) comeing out those pipes were un mistakeable!...Especialy when your rappn it up thru the gears WIDEOPEN !!!!

The fastest car I driven was my moms old Nissan Altima. It was about 290 HP and I took it to 120 mph on the way to Florida one time. I have driven nothing stronger then that, my next car I plan to get is gonna be a Dodge Magnum SRT8. I plan to go all out modifying that. But I will love to drive my dream supercar, the Aston Martin DB9!

I never got the chance to test drive a car, I would love to get my hands on the new LT1 Camaro.
