I was talking to a friend of mine. We were thinking which one is fastest. The V6 Turbo or the V 8 stock out of the factory ??? Not sure if this was ever on here before. Any Idea's ?

 

What car are you talking about? Trans ams? Regals?

 

ha ha ha. well this is a Monte Carlo site. Yeah i'm talking about the Monte's.

 

Which year Monte? Don't think the factory put out turbocharged V6 Montes from 1995 to 2007. The 04 & 05 supercharged 3800 V6 (240 hp) from the factory ain't gonna touch the 06 & 07 V8 Montes (303 hp).

 

Agreed, not a chance, unless you like watching tailights get smaller & smaller... lol...

Question, was the L67 (Supercharged) option only offered in 04 & 05?... The siganature series prior to 04 were N/A?... Thanks, just curious,

 

The L67 was offered as an option in the 04 SS' but was standard in 05 SS' all earlier SS' were the L36.

Otherwise, Rick, you still need to be more specific even though this is a Monte website

 

I would say any monte stock out of the factory, the v8 in the last two years would be faster.

But asking that at an enthusiasts car site, most cars aren't stock anymore so it really boils down to car specific.

So the question is an aftermarket turbo kit for the 3800 engine or the stock V-8 LS4, which one is faster? I'm not sure, but I'd bet the turboed V6 would be.

Was there ever a turbo monte offered? Maybe a few were made back when grand nationals and t-type buicks were made.
If you want to know which is faster, a supercharged monte or a ls4 monte. Stock vs. Stock, an ls4 will easily walk a supercharged one. That being said, you can easily make a supercharged monte run with or beat a ls4.
