Experiment: Is community a gift?
As a member of various groups and message boards, I've met quite a few people during my road trips. With "small world" experiences such as this one...

...I'm convinced that we are more of a community than just words on a screen on a particular message board. I'm STILL amazed at that connection ChevyTalk's DeeGee and I made that evening in Oklahoma City....
That written, I'm attempting an experiment. Last year, I started a thread asking people to state where all they have lived. For THIS experiment, I'm asking 3 additional questions:
Where all did you go to school (HS and college) and when?
Where all have you worked and when?
If treated/being treated for a health condition, at what hospital(s) have you been/are you being treated?
(and, of course)
Where all have you lived and when?
As people share, I will put together a list, by state, of people (I'll only use handles, not names) and where they've gone to school, worked, been treated and lived. Then, I'll post the list and see how many people are "connected" in different ways ... whether directly or indirectly.
If you so choose, please participate; maybe we'll illustrate that, as I believe and have experienced, community IS a gift.

Larkin HS, Elgin IL ... 1988-1992
Manchester College, N Manchester IN ... 1992-1996
My places of employment:
The Courier-News newspaper, Elgin IL ... summers 1995 and 1996
Sears, Hoffman Estates IL ... December 1996-April 2005
Chase/Protective, Elgin IL ... July 2005-September 2006
Weber, Schaumburg/Palatine/Huntley IL ... October 2006-present
Hospitals for surgeries/treatments:
Sherman Hospital, Elgin IL ... born here
Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago IL ... surgeries = November 1977, March 1987, and January 6, 2003 [5 years ago now]
Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago IL ... ongoing care with cardiologist, etc.
My homes:
Elgin IL ... 1973-present
N Manchester IN (for college) ... 1992-1996
Nashville TN ... September 1996

i am young yet and therefor havent been many places but i think community is a gift...i have connected with so many ppl thru others that its amazing, a fw months ago i was kinda with a girl and it just sorta fizzled out aand not much happened and then bout 2 weeks ago one of my friends ended up bringin a girl to a party i was at...turns out it was the best friend of the girl i had a fling with and that i actually went to school with her older brother and had meet her father...it truely is a small world

Didnt go to collage cause father passed away right before i turned 18.
M.E.C.P. certified in 1996
My places of employment:
LAUSD: 1985-1993.
Installing in different shops form 1992-1999
Bemis plastics in NJ 1999-2002
An automotive paint store that will remain nameless for personal reasons. 2003-2007
English Color in Ok. 2007-Present.
Hospitals for surgeries/treatments:
Diabetic, but not on the shot(thank god).

Well that its. I think. I know that somewhere in between 1992-1995, i was homeless so I didnt add that to the places where i have lived. I just lived wherever i would lay my head down.

McDonalds of Oxford, January 2006-June 2006. I quit when the ywouldn't give me the time off I needed ot mow the lawns around here, which was still even the biggest source of my income. Plus, it sucked, so I left.
