not where i live, sometimes they'll have warranty left on them from when they were new, but thats it.
Is this from a GM dealer direct.

Used 07 GM cars that first didn't come with the 100k free warranty can qualify for the "free" 100k mile warranty long after you've bought it.

You can't do that with a used GM car that is not "certified."

Even selected certified 06 cars qualify for the "free" 100k.

Used 06 non-certified GM cars cannot register for the free like my LTZ.

There is a difference cowboy, my car wasn't "certified" so I couldn't get the free 100k.

Solara, unfortunately, from what I understand, is that the "Free" 100k mile warranty is actually for the drivetrain only... You purchased an after-the fact warranty, right? Because I was told the 5 year/ 100k mile warranty is for the drivetrain only. But being GM certified used means I get 3.25 years / 39K miles bumper to bumper.

Oh, and I'm glad you registered/offered your car to be used with K&N. Hopefully they'll take you up on that and get a system ready to sell for the 3.9 and possibly the 3.5 cars.

I hope everyone that's not going to offer their ride for R&D will at least sign up to recieve word when the product is available at: http://www.knfilters.com/products_needed/default.aspx

At least the 2006/2007's.. I mean, for older Montes I don't know what there is, but the following is where you look for it:

Glad you like the link GPD, and on behalf of all of us updated 6th gen owners... (06 - 07) THANKS!!!!

Good info Fly, I bought the GM "Major Guard" which is the 5year/100K bumper to bumper warranty.

It was $1850 for no deductible.

I bought the $1400 with the $200 deductible.

With all the little tiny things that go wrong, I wish I would have paid the extra $20 a month to have no deductible.

I'm glad I had my 36,000. Needed to replace my DIC and Dash Electronics. Been working great since then.

space:

yes, i believe clark howard can be trusted. he has an entire team, some paid, some volunteers, who research information, called "Team Clark" who investigate such frauds. and yes space, what i am trying to say is that GM, along with all of the other manufacturers, have figured out a way to trick you into buying a car. as i said, its psychological. its a car that isn't new, but it isn't used enough to really be called used. so they figured out they can call these cars with a few years and only a few thousand miles on them "certified" and people are more willing to buy them. that way, they didn't buy a used car, they bought a "certified" car. and do you have any idea how long it wuold take to do a 117 point inspection. carmax doesn't really do much of a 124 point inspection either. they look the cars over, yes, but not to the extent they claim they do. to check out all of those points to the extent they claim they do, then it would take a day a car to inspect them. all of these companiesinvest millions into marketing and research every year into what the public wants. for example, exxon invested $10,000,000 in research just to change thier name from "esso" to "exxon". when i was looking for my monte, i looked at some of these "certified" cars. the only warranties i found were either offered by a dealer for about 20-30,000 miles or had a warranty left on them from when they rolled out of Quebec. no space, i don't intend to become a talk show host. once again, i seem to stand alone.

another epic duel between space and cowboy

Wow.. Im torn between the options. After looking at my friends GTP closer, the engine cradles are completely different.. To put in the 3.8 S/c id have to retrofit the cradle, or change mounts. As for the 3.9, I am finding a few of them, but most are in the Uplanders and the Montana SV6's and such. But honeslty I think Ill wait for more 3.5L mods to come out. The G6 boys should figure something out soon, no?

i agree fox ,if you're not having trouble, stick with the 3.5 and wait it out. the 3.8 has been around in some form or another since the 70's? (correct me space), so naturally everybody and their brother would have mods for it. just be patient my friend.

Yeah.. I imagine so. THe cheapest 3.9L I found was 1500USD, and thats not the cash I have now. Plus there isnt anything wrong with the setup I have, Id just like more go. Perhaps Ill break out the autocad and start working on some mods until the warranty goes out.. (25,000kms to go)

you can never have enough power, eventually you get so used to it that it doesn't feel fast anymore, then you want more, and more, and more....

They share so many parts, you could possibly get just the intake manifold off a 3.9 and put it on your car... should help somewhat..

It's just getting it functional would be interesting...
