Thanks everyone for your posts, thoughts & opinions.
I hope these issues can be worked `out peacefully 4-Sure.
Plus, I hope we don't start something with Russia

I believe our country better start taking care of itself, before we keep going to other countries to solve their problems.
I think we should solve our countries problems first & lead by example & not by force. I do believe in a STRONG DEFENSE & I think we should concentrate on being the strongest
"Be able to lead by Example & Not by Force" Be strong enough that no one would dare threaten our country 4-Sure...

I'm Broken right now, but just wait until I get myself fixed

I'll be a BAD *ss Weapon 4-Sure >OK, maybe
or maybe not >

The God I believe in doesn't condone killing others (unless your government says it's `OK ? ?) What ? ?
I believe in World Peace 4-Sure....Can't our corporate World make $'s on a Peaceful Planet ?
We need good honest leaders on our Planet...Ones, that don't sell their souls for $'s > Power.
Power Corrupts 4-Really >Sure...
It's a `Sad State of Affairs. We can only do our best to obey the laws of our countries & work peacefully to change the laws that are unjust & unfair to the majority of law abiding citizens. The majority should rule & not the powerful corporations that are in it for the $'s. People need to get involved in their communities (& the MCF: ) and the political process & working on putting in good honest representatives. The problem I see is the government does it's best to keep us busy paying taxes & surviving that no one seems to have the time to get involved to change things for the better.
The USA is broke & continues to go further in debt every second. I am concerned about the future of the USA & our world.

Hi `Mel, I agree 100%, we can't even police our country. I know or have met to many that live in fear in the USA. In Florida we have people from every state living here or visiting and they talk about the problems in their state. How many can safely walk in their communities without being in fear or danger. Yes, in the good old USA. I find that so sad
I don't mine others coming to our country, but I think they should be contributors & not takers.I understand why so many are getting guns. People are scared or in fear. There's several locations in my area that I would not feel safe without a weapon. Some area's of Miami are super dangerous. There's to many desperate people out there that will take & purposely hurt anyone.
Our prisons are full & it cost us a lot, there's no rehabilitation or work programs. I believe non-violent criminals should be on work farms & made to be self supporting. The hard core felon's should be working & growing their own food etc.
Make their own cloths, furniture, etc.
live in tents & build there own homes. I think they could be almost self supporting. We need those old time programs my grandfather told me about like the WPA & the CCC.
The taxpayer's are just taking care of 2 many people that don't contribute anything, but keep on taking.
I believe in helping those that will help themselves out of debt.
That's `all, my mind is tired & I need a good recharge to continue what's falling outa my mind > LOL
I hope that we can find leaders that can resolve these major issues in our country, our world. If not ? then ?
THE `END
Peace/Out

A simple understanding of the first of the two clauses of Sorenson’s line (“Ask not what your country can do for you”) could be understood as, Do not ask for government benefits. Take care of yourself.
(Another interpretation will be offered below.)
A similar understanding of the second of the two clauses (“Ask what you can do for your country”) could be understood as, Be a good neighbor — and pay your taxes. (All your taxes, and on time. And don’t complain!) There are many more nuanced or more brute-force interpretations extant.

What are you doing to make it better ?

Looks like another victory for the 2nd amendment forces. A heavily promoted seminar for gun control in Texas failed miserably, only about 10% of the seats had an attendee in them. Seems as though people are tired of the higher up's always trying to curb our 2nd amendment rights. Yeah Texas, Remember the Alamo! Below is the article aabout the failed conference...
March 9, 2014
Very few attended a panel discussion on gun control in Austin, Texas yesterday even though the event was heavily promoted by media, proving once again the popularity of the Second Amendment and basic human freedoms as a whole.
Very few attended yesterday’s gun control event.
Key leaders from the three largest gun control groups – Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Americans for Responsible Solutions and Moms Demand Action – not only organized the event but also spoke to the handful in attendance who occupied at most 10% of the available seats.
This despite the fact that the panel discussion was a registered event of South by Southwest, an internationally-known set of film, interactive and music festivals and conferences that takes place every spring in Austin with an attendance of at least 100,000 from across the world.
In San Antonio back in October, only around three people showed up for a gun control event organized by Moms Demand Action as a counter-protest to an open carry rally occurring simultaneously at the Alamo, of which an estimated 1,500 showed up in support for the Second Amendment.
The lack of attendance at these anti-gun events reveals that not only is gun control unpopular, but the groups organizing these events are not grassroots as they claim but are rather top-down front groups led by corrupt politicians such as former N.Y. mayor Michael Bloomberg.
These groups pretend to be grassroots to shift attention away from Bloomberg and his true agenda: the complete disarmament of all Americans.
“Under the guise of helping mayors facing a crime and drug epidemic, MAIG intended to promote confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens,” Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Mayor John C. Tkazyik wrote shortly after leaving Bloomberg’s gun control group.
Bloomberg is unfortunately not alone.
At a gun control event last year, Austin, Texas City Council Member Mike Martinez admitted that gun control is simply a step-by-step process to completely eliminate the Second Amendment.
While pointing at a sign held by a protestor which read “Stop Gun Ban,” Martinez said that “someone needs to inform him that there is no gun ban currently, but because of the work we’re doing today, we will make [his] sign legitimate shortly.”

I carry (legally) a Taurus 24/7 Gen 2 in 9mm with my just about everywhere I go. Obviously heeding to the laws, and restrictions.
I have an AR15 also, and a Remington 700 bolt gun in .308
I haven't gone to the range in a long time and thinking about parting ways with them. They just sit in my safe, once in a while come out and get cleaned and rotate the mags with the defensive ammo in the AR and swap out my defensive rounds in my carry gun.
