I don't have a gun, I would like to have one more for just going shooting which I have done with my friends gun and it was pretty fun. The only weapon I have is a knife and I normally do carry it but mostly just to use if I need to cut something open or just a handy tool. Its not really to hurt anyone with it unless I guess that would come up.

Space:
I vaguely remember some post we had a while back in regards to members and there weapons..But I believe someone started it by hijacking someones post...

In these times ..the way things are getting in the US... Its almost mandatory (IMO) to have a weapon of sorts ..At least here in the Detroit area... I not to long ago had Liz take a concealed carry course... Since she still works downtown Detroit... at a Major Casino. Not to mention she also drives her nice Sierra to and from work.. I have less a tendancy to worry about her traveling to and from work each day. She does have a Smith and Wesson 38 cal. air weight revolver. (Hammerless) We also have had recently a range that opened just down the street from us.. That we use frequently to practice at... Yes ..She is very efficient with her firearm.
I also have a cpl of firearms that are easily accessable (with in reach) placed anonymously around the house. For my own piece of mind.
So, I guess you could say, Yes we do...lol

By the way...
I do have a Machette at my side next to where I sit in the living room. I also carry a switchblade.. Since I am an amputee I am allowed to carry one. (I cant run)... I have always carried some sort of knife in my pocket my whole life. I also have a cane I ordered from Mexico many years ago that also has a sword built into it.. a simple twist of the handle and walla out it comes... Its covered in Snake skin and has a Snake head for the handle.

Yes Mod David, we had a similar thread years ago on this topic.

But times > they are changing & I don't know `if we are changing for the better ?

I personally wish there were no weapons in our world & we could just put our leader's into a boxing ring to settle their differences `if they can't intellectually

I have non-gun related weapons. Used to do martial arts when I was younger.

Have a few Bo Staff, Kendo Sticks, and a set of Tonfa

I think faced with todays gun grabbing environment, perhaps one should hold those cards close to their chest. Don't ask, don't tell could be the norm. One can only look around and see the many new restrictions being imposed on gun owners. Some states have enacted no magazine that holds more than 10 rounds laws? Heck about every semi-auto pistol and rifle out there is now in violation.

New York and even Conn. have enacted very tight laws, essentially creating felons from the normal law abiding gun owner. Here is Conn's. new magazine law. So if you failed to register your magazine you have tucked away for the last 20 years by Jan. 1st 2014 your now a felon. fortunately from what I read many thousands of Conn. residents DID NOT turn out in droves to register their magazines. I like this, a passive resistance, what will they do, put everyone in jail?

As of April 4, 2013, magazines holding more than 10 rounds are considered Large Capacity Magazines (LCM), and such magazines manufactured after that date may not be sold or transferred within the state. Existing owners of LCMs may possess such magazines if they declare them with the DESPP before January 1, 2014. Owners of registered LCMs may not load such magazines with more than 10 rounds except when inside the owner's home or on the premises of a licensed shooting range. Even if an individual has a permit to carry a pistol or revolver, they can never carry, other than at a shooting range, a pistol that has an LCM loaded with more than 10 bullets. Unlawfully possessing a Large Capacity Magazine obtained prior to the ban's effective date is an infraction with a $90 fine for the first offense, and a Class D felony (punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine) for subsequent offenses. Unlawfully possessing a LCM obtained after the effective date of the ban is a Class D felony.

New York city essentially made it a felony to have certain weapons except for pistols . All again "Law abiding" registered gun owners were sent letters telling them to turn in, sell to a non-city resident or provide proof they are storing their registered weapon out of the city. And this was done by using the list of Registered weapon owners. See how quickly this list can be turned around.

I believe one needs to clam up on what they have and let someone else try and figure it out. It's going to only get worse before it gets better, if ever.

Space I agree wiht the NO weapons on earth, but then how would the few control the masses... get up go to work, don't look left or right, up or down, just work away all day and night.

Cool >I wish all peace & happiness<

Thanks `Greg (Zippy) for your post & views. I respect them.
It's sad that we have to be so protective in our lives & that so many have to live in fear in a free society.

The World Wide Web is opening `up the closets on people & their hidden backgrounds to all in the public. It difficult for anyone to hide in todays world (except the criminals & terrorist) , but they constantly have to be looking over their shoulders. (Not a way that I want or desire to live or travel my journeys of life.

I hope we can find/elect good & honest leaders that can make our Country & world a better place to live & enjoy the full benefits of life > without fears... That's all, my mind needs a recharge

Greg, you and I both know how quickly registration could be turned against us. I own a remington 770 I bought from a store and a C9 I bought from a store. Both are "registered" beacuse when you buy from a store thats what they do, and buying a handgun under the age of 21 is a tricky process so we played it safe.

I strongly believe in the right to bear arms and im astounded at how easily the government is circumventing and limiting thoes rights. A person should be allowed to own weapons comparable to those in use by the military, beacuse the only time we needed a militia was against a domestic threat.
