All providers go trough that crap. I had Dish Network this year and they had lost CBS. SO I went to Comcast. By the time I got my Comcast up and running they had reached a deal with CBS. Go figure. I like Dish better than direct or Comcast. They had a DVR box that ran 2 rooms so you didn't have to pay for an extra box. Downside, you could only record one and watch another. Comcast will record 2 and let you watch something else. Also with comcast, you dont even have to record the weekly shows. They have a catch up thing that will let you watch them. I am in no way being a Comcast salesman here, as I said I liked Dish better but then theres that loss of reception during storms. Thats always sucked. Good Luck. Go on their FB page, I am sure lots of talk about it as there was for dish when they were going through it.

I cut the cord over the summer and just got a tivo. I had ATT Uverse which was excellent, but the cost was too great, think I was paying like $70 a month for HD/DVR/U200. I didn't watch many shows that weren't on the broadcast channels so it just made since. I d/l the couple shows that I do follow that were on cable, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, Dexter, Weeds... So far so good cable bill free I was supplementing with Hulu Plus but recently cancelled that since all they seem to get is what is already being recorded by the tivo on the broadcast channels.

I hope something happens soon because I want to be able to watch my Red Wings! As of right now, DirecTV can't reach an agreement with the company that owns Fox Sports channels, FX, Speed, Fuel, Nat Geo, and some other Fox sports channels. Apparently the company wants to raise their fees by 40%. If they can't reach an agreement by November 1st, DirecTV plans to drop these channels. An agreement always happens though, even if its after the drop date. DirecTV went through the same thing with Comcast a few years ago and dropped Versus until they came to an agreement, which was only about a week after the drop.
