Default The Developing Issues at Toyota

So I was doing a little thinking today. The new Prius is having these stopping issues along with acceleration issues, along with several other models.

Do you guys think that the government, in the name of highway safety, may put a temporary ban on driving Toyota's in the year models with the problems and force Toyota to pay for rental cars of other makes and models?

It would be pretty much unprecedented. It's unconstitutional depending on how you look at it, but the supreme court has ruled that the government has an underlying interest in public safety. Is Toyota a danger? My roommate told me today that Federal engineers are baffled at the problem.... meanwhile, more cars are having issues, more people, innocents who have never purchased Toyota's are in danger... what can they do?

I have no idea what the government would or is going to do, but any and everything you want to know about this whole Toyota sucking it up thing is in that link above. Jalopnik FTW!
