Best of Show: The 2008 Cadillac CTS
Cadillac’s new 2008 CTS combines beauty and brawn. The exterior styling is bold, featuring a more aggressive grille followed by a more sculpted body. The sleeker greenhouse roofline also caps off an interior that is much improved. The boxy center stack of the past is replaced with a more flowing instrument panel. Two engine options are available: a 255-bhp or a 300-bhp 3.6-liter V-8. All-wheel drive will also be available for the first time. We hope all this, plus a Nürburgring-tuned chassis suspension, will live up to its promise that the Cadillac will be able to take on some of European’s best sports sedans.

2008 Chevrolet Malibu
Talk about an extreme makeover! Growing significantly in size (and style), the ’08 Malibu shows what can happen when GM really puts its mind to designing—and executing—a well-packaged, decent-looking vehicle that isn’t a truck. We’ll reserve final judgment until we get a chance to take it for a spin, of course, but in the short-term, things are looking good for the successor to one of GM’s best-selling cars.
