There is no such thing as an 'American Made' automobile anymore unless you buy from a specialty company like Superlite. It is now a global market. Parts and labor are sourced out to wherever the job can be done for the least amount of revenue. Even cars that claim to be 'Imported from Detroit' are only assembled there...with parts from other Countries.

Was reading online that, that whole video is complete bs. i read it on some site like snopes. Just some guy with way to much time on their hands and a hatred for american car manufactures.
anyone could make a fake video on youtube and get people to believe it..
*ahem* Kony 2012 *ahem* (though this is a real situation but the foundation was linked to big time Fraud)

Heres the irony:
Did you know...theres suppose to be a fair trade act between us and china for example?
When china ships thousands of shipping containers here to the good ole U.S. of A. ?
That ship: returns with containers that are all "EMPTY"???
Thats right there all returned empty...We ship nothing in return to them...
So when you speak of made in america with all the foreign cars here....
The majority of the electronics etc....Come from china!!!....So, even though some maybe assembled here....There still not...100%
AMERICAN MADE!

I heard a while ago that they could make new containers cheaper than shipping them back so they just recycle the ones here and sell the scrap.
I buy GM for 3 reasons 1. my dad and my father in law both retired from there. 2. I have worked on them my whole life and am familiar with them. 3. parts are always easy to find. I have worked on other makes and models and every time I do i have to research for tips and tricks for that make. Im not sure how available parts are for the other 2 of the big 3 but it seems like every time I need a part for the nissan we have it has to be ordered.
As far as the parts stores go I have Auto zone, advanced auto, orielys, auto value and carquest. I usually go to AZ or Advanced because I know people at both who know there stuff.
