Mine never leaked a drop, may be different for the rust belt. Does your monte have a moon roof? I have owned both and would never buy another one without t-tops.

 

We custom ordered the Monte so it didn't have a sunroof and didn't have to deal with the possibility of leaking haha

 

I am the complete opposite, I will only buy cars anymore if they have some kind of moonroof. I have never had one leak yet. Maintain the seals and replace as necessary and you are good to go. If you want a hard top they are even cheaper.

Just the area, and we knew the Monte would be outdoors the first 6 years of its life.

Hasn't bothered me. Although if I find the right f-body with t-tops I won't turn it down lol
