Mike, I would really consider and LS1 car over an LT1. I have owned 2 LT1's and they are non for optispark problems. The LT1 does produce more stock torgue and has a better exhaust note in my opinion though.

I just prefer the look of the LT1 over the LS1 Camaros. I know there are optispark issues, especially with them getting wet I think??

But I thought the earlier were worse, and the newer ones 95+ weren't as bad??

i cant wait to buy a second car that is a V8 and rear wheel drive, and i have so many things i want to do to my monte as well!!!

As far as I know they all were bad. I did see that msd has an upgrade available. The issues we had with them were from trying to fun more power more then anything. They would just come apart. If you like the LT1 body style better then I say go for it, they are usually cheaper which is a bonus.

My plans are to keep the LT1 stock. CAI and cat-back are the only things I would do to it just for sound. The Monte is gonna be my fast car.
