I'd like to see the hardtops make a comeback. Pillarless at the back of the front doors. Roll down the windows and it's one BIG opening, no fugly pillar in the way.

Those aren't the EXACT cars I've owned, but I've owned the above cars, the Impala SS was my 1st, and the comet my 2nd car.

I think that pillar is a safety requirement now... reinforcement of the cabin in the event of a roll over.

Safety, Safety, Safety! Bla, Bla, Bla! Yada, yada, yada!

My '64 Impala SS was aqua in color w/ white vinyl buckets. 283 w/ 4 speed
'65 Comet was the Caliente version, dark green, black vinyl bench seat, and yes, it was the 289 hi-po w/4 speed. I HAD to have HUGE Sun Super tach on it, of course. And it had air shocks and the wheels and center caps from my buddies '69 Mach 1 on her. It's probably one of the cars that I had back more than any.
Yes, the '60's Lincolns had suicide doors, including the 4 door convertible.

I guess great minds think alike - I mentioned the same thing in an earlier post. Bring back the hard top sedan. When it's time for my 05 to be replaced (I don't want to sound like a trader or anything) I hope they still make the Honda Accord Coupe or the Nissan Altima Coupe. I can't see myself driving a RWD muscle car for my DD in the snow belt - been there, done that - not going to do it again.

Hi `Amy, I thought about your post when I seen `Wayne's post
I think the Lincoln with Suicide Doors is wild
& they hold their resale value 4-Sure.
Price:$42,998

http://www.dealsonwheels.com/detail/...688298E09.aspx

p.s. CowBoy `Duane, Lincoln did not care about safety back then : ) They even stated their Lincoln had Suicide doors to `jump out `of : )

p.s.s. Amy hope U R feel'in better 4-Sure...

Thanks everyone 4 your posts on this thread...We EnJoyed

I've lost track of how many muscle cars I saw stuck in the snow.
