a friend of mine had a 76 triumph spitfire convertible that we used to tool around in. it was about the same size and it was a blast to drive. I can't imagine getting plowed by a fullsize pickup in that thing though.

 

the guy who owns it says it does 60 mph @ 3500 rpm, the front has disc brakes the rear has drums, it's pretty cool, has a 4 speed manual tranny. the center hubs to remove the wheels, kinda need just a little more pressure to remove them by hand with some strength to do so! i was checking it out all day long. i guarantee i could lift the rear end off the ground with no problem! i never had the opportunity to check one out up in person like today.cool, see you all

A former girlfriend, her younger sister had a blue '72 I believe it was. The entire time we were together I don't recall ever seeing the car run even once?

One saturday I was there working on my first car. I had done some work to the hood and was painting in their garage. The brother in law came out and saw me painting near "Their" car and blew a fuse. (Gee maybe if you'd take YOUR car to YOUR home we wouldn't have this problem?)

So of course mom & dad jumped in and insisted we (the girlfriend & I) push the car outside so I could continue to paint. Then afterwards we (the girlfriend & I) had to push the car back in the garage.

 

rj, lemmi guess... when you say work on the hood, you shaved the rockets, right? lol, my dads 57 wagon has them shaved, but whoever did it made one noticebly longer than the other, lol. he went crazy tryin to find one that still had them.

the tryumph is a neat little car, bet it would whoop a smart car in fuel milage, i know they dont like the rain, though, & there not plesent to drive a long distance, but they are one of the few 70s cars that will REALLY turn heads. especilly in red, lol.

 

My Fiance had a Triumph spitfire vert but I'm not sure of the year. I think it was British Racing Green.

 

I've seen a couple stock hoods done like this. I do kind of like the look of a smoothed hood for a different look.

The work I did to mine was, install a cowl induction scoop from a '71 Chevelle hood grafted on to my hood.

 

My neighbor had one of those, it always looked like a fun little car to cruise around in on some twisty back roads.

Safety on the other hand may be lacking. The tires on the Bravada behind it are as tall as the hood!
