Anyone have pics of their center console? I think they removed switches or something on my Monte. There's a plate in front of the cup holder and under it there's a bundle (2) of disconnected wire harnesses.. one black and one white.. Anyone have these switches i may be missing? i cant seem to find a pic on the web.. *sigh*

 

I have the same panel infront of my cup holder however ive never removed it so i wouldnt know if theres wires under it or not, but I dont have any switches.

That's the wire harnesses for the heated leather seats.

If you don't have the leather seats, the switches were never installed.

 

Its just weird to have a wire harness there also if there's nothing to connect it to.. is there a possibility for heated cloth seats? I've heard its possible in some vehicles but not sure if montes fall into that possibility. And yes J, we are talking about the same panel. :P u should look and see if there's wires under yours that aren't connected to anything.

 

As far as I know, that wire harness was installed in all the SS Montes. So you should also have the connector for the heater under your seat also.

It's really up to you what you want to do. If you want to install the heaters inside your cloth seats, you would have to take the seat's upholstery apart. If you REALLY want heated seats, you may want to consider getting a good used set of the stock leather seats. Simply swap the entire seat and plug them in. Check junk yards or the net for the best deal.

Then you can either wire up your own toggle switches (hi/low/off), or get them from the junk yard too. But wiring up your own switches would be pretty simple.

 

Thanks Taz, I'll have to look into some of those options. I have a great relationship with most of the local junkyards as I'm always scavenging parts for someone for something. lol
