Default Carnage can be fun!

My budy rick took out his 74 k5 blazer for the first time in some time little backround

SBC 350
stock rotating kit
protope heads 2.02in 195exh (i think)
lumpy Eglen cam i'm not sure of the specs
1.6 rockers,
edelbrock intake,
centrforce clutch
SM465 np205 transfercase
headers with just some pipes to extend back alittle

we cruised around most of the day, we get to a stoplight and starts taking off slow then hammers it goes to speed shift into second and rpm's reach for the sky and we heard a CRACK BANG BOOM, lool back and his driveshaft is sitting it the road,
Coast into the parking lot, go grab the drivshaft and the U Joint is destroyed!!!
we pull off the front part as it is also attached to the transfercase with a u joint, lock the front hubs and drive it back in 4 hi using the front wheels,

He's not mad about it he said we needed pic of this!

so him holding the driveshaft
o yeah the u joint was almost brand new only had maybe 500 mile on it(even tho it looks old u know leaky seals + mudding = looks older)

TOASTED U JOINT

OUCH! By the sounds of this event, the driveshaft did not smash anything else around it, just fell out once the joints broke?

we just looked at each other and went holy shet! it was a hell of a break, we both just went well we found the weak point!, that motor is making a good amount of torqe, erlier when just a little powershifting he was getting the front tires to leap maybe 3-4 inches off the ground!

this is what it sounded like last summer before the new 1.6 rockers and had a diff edelbrock intake on it

idel video from a few months ago after the 1.6 rockers and new intake

correct! as soon as we head it he slamed the clutch in and let off the gas! where bolts up on the rear is a bit messed up( mainly the straps) but that doesn't matter he's got a dana 60 front and copo 14 rear waiting to go in
