Hey all, I think its finally time I get a car cover to protect my horizon. Any suggestions as to what kind and to where I should get it from?

 

This is the type of car cover I'm getting next month for the Monte: NOAH Barrier Fabric Car Covers from Covercraft

 

I outdoor store my Monte with a Wolfe Automotive (now Cover Craft) custome fit cover using the "Noah" fabric. When I bought it, the thing was like $160 shipped, now they are about $300!!!!
But for outdoor storage, they do a GREAT job!! I'm completely happy each year with it's performance.

 

Evolution IV is also a very good car cover - better dent protection than Noah. I got mine from AutoAnything.com probably a Covercraft cover.

 

People will hate me for this, but I picked one up from advanced auto parts. It was the "highest" quality one they sell and honestly for $90 it does what it is supposed to do. It repels water pretty well and keeps things off your paint and is soft enough to not damage your paint. I looked online and car covers get expensive. I could really car less about it being a custom fit and colorful and all that, because it's only on during the night since it is my daily driver. If It was something that would be on there for weeks on end then I would invest a little more money in a really nice one. but for my needs the ones at the auto parts stores work fine and do he job.

 

The car will be outside, i'm mainly just interested in something to keep the crap off it, pollen, tree guts etc. I've spent too much money to not protect it and I suppose this is the next best thing to a garage. $248 for a fitted cover shipped for the horizon on the link mike posted above. Not too bad.

 

The one Mike pointed you too is what mine is (since Wolf is now owned by CoverCraft). I like the custom fit because it's tougher for the wind to blow it off and it has the mirror pockets. Since it sits outside all winter, these were concerns I had. I have no disappointment in the quality.
As for dent protection, at least in the way my Monte is tucked for the winter, the dent issues that could happen, no cover would prevent (it would have to protect from tree branches falling, which it's far enough from those issues, if a branch hits it, the tree is probably coming with it).

 

Instead of shopping at just the link, check Amazon as well. Amazon had the correct part number and everything, and it was a little cheaper.

I probably wouldn't use a car cover on a daily driver

 

I would - the 6 months my Stang lives outside I try to keep it covered at night (depending on weather) kinda sucks to dry out a car cover.

 

If I cover an outdoor car, by the time I go to uncover it again, be it snow or rain, the sun does a great job of drying my cover
