How to burn out an 06/07 SS........"Stand on it". Thats about all you need to do. Oh....make sure you are holding on tight, and as the man says, get ready to get some new tires.

hm all montes b4 the 5th gen was rwd, the 07ss with the 5.3 is rwd.
Pretty sure they're still FWD. Big disappointment to have a V8 that was FWD.
hmm i thought a member here was saying his was rwd but after researching its not, that is a huge dissapointment to drop that nice v8 into a car and make it fwd. but leave it to chevy to do something that stuipd

What is the all the hoopla about RWD. Yea Yea, I know with FWD, you get a certain amount of torque steer under hard acceleration, but up here in the Great White North, the FWD will go through almost anything. (Snow)

What is the advantage of RWD???

i guess its more about personal tastes have u ever noticed its eaier to push then to pull? hense the diff in fwd and rwd. not much performance out of a fwd nor can you do nice maneuvers or w/e with fwd. i personally despise fwd and if it wasnt for the fact my mc was given to me id of never driven it. i just cannot in any mind associate fwd with any sort of performance at all

I don't plan on doing any course racing, donuts, drifting, or any other James Bond moves. So now whats the difference to me or any other "normal" driver????

As someone said previously, most people use there Monte as a daily driver. Will they see any difference if it was RWD???

As far as performance I sure don't need anymore. The 06/07 SS models will do 0-60 in less than 6 secs. You need a lot of car to improve on that.

I always seem to burn out quicker than my car, except for a '64 Rambler I had that only lasted a few months. But as I get older and am slowing down, it doesn't seem to happen as often or as severe.

I agree, but why should Chevy redesign the drivetrain when they were discontinuing the car?
