I think GM only put the Camaro out to save face. They spent so much time and money getting people's hopes up for the new Camaro, they would've looked really stupid shelving it without ever making a single production model.

I think GM will make them for another year or two, then kill the Camaro name again because of poor sales. But the reality is, people want the V8. Us Chevy guys want a real competitor for the Challenger and Mustang. These people just won't settle for a V6.

I remember the V6 Camaros and Firebirds from the 80's. Most of those people got laughed at around here.

My first car was an 86 Caprice Coupe. If Chevy has the ***** to go through with this they better be making a coupe again.

I just read on another forum that the G8 is going into hiatus. The Caprice is not going to happen. They are only gonig to concentrate on I4s and V6s.

I had a V6 '83 Firebird when I was 17. The thing looked like K.I.T.T., but those in the know laughed at me. That 2.8L carbed engine was a dog and a bastard for flooding (and a zillion other mechanical ailments). It still got me laid. It was a good looking car - all my best teenage memories where with that car. So guess you could say the new V6 Camaro is a good kids car. A very lucky kids car.

Folks... The Camaro's V6 is 304HP!!! My 2006 Monte SS V8 only had 303HP and the car is heavier. The Camaro V6 should eat most V8 Mustangs, BWM 335i, Audi A4, Saab 93 & 95 Turbos, and most other cars for that matter, while giving you 29-MPG!!! Nice HP, Nice MPG, and handles like a dream! To me, it is about time the GM finally steps up to not only compete against the US Competition, but the Oversea Competition as well...
