Bi-monthly Photo contest VOTING: Military History
Welcome ladies and gentlemen, yes this past week went fast. Here we are already on the voting phase for the MILITARY HISTORY themed photo contest put forth by our last contest winner Butch049.
We have quite the selection of really awesome photo's our MCF members have submitted. Would you please take a few moments and review them all and please cast a vote for your favorite picture. I think they all get a high 5 for all their work in producing a picture for this contest.
So with that you all rock, great turn out, this makes the Gods of War very happy! Best of luck to all of you, anyone could pull off a win here, you all did good, thanks! And as a reminder, should your photo win this contest then as the winner you will be choosing the next contest theme, so be ready to drop your idea off on POST IT ON THIS THREAD.
Okay here we go and first up is...:
Junior Car... "London Airport, Royal Canadian Air Force "Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star" First jet to enter the service for the US and Canadian Air force... Also known as the P-80
P343... "US Navy Korean Conflict Veteran" Even today he is still proudly chewing bubble gum and kicking butt, and he's fresh out of bubble gum! Go Navy!! Thanks for your service squid!! LOL
Sidestreet... "
Taken at the Strategic Air & Space Museum southwest of Omaha. They've got these three big Air Force missiles set up right by the entrance. The one with the red parts on it is an Atlas ICBM, the first one for the U.S., going back to the late Fifties. (Don't worry, I don't think they're armed and dangerous anymore!
Butch049... "Site of a former US based POW camp for captured German prisoners" Concordia, Kansas 1943 - 1945
Zippy02...: Time lapse of the different uniforms and gear worn by Zippy02 as the equipment evolved over the years for the US Army" M1 Vietnam era Mitchell camo pattern helmet to Woodland Pattern on a Kevlar and then the US Paratrooper Maroon Beret etc. Shirts are Vietnam leaf ERDL pattern, next is the Woodland patterns and then the Choclate Chip Day desert version. Black leather boots to jungle boots. Night Desert drop cloth on hood.
02ssintimidator... : Replica of a awesome PT boat used successfully by our US Navy during WWII. They would get in the thick of it and mix it up, sinking destroyers and a few capital ships. Had to have a death wish to crew one of these small nimble fast attack boats. President Kennedy commanded one of these, it was sunk and he swam with a wounded sailor in his teeth 8 miles, and effected their own rescue! Go Navy!!
