But cardomain continues to use your photos and mine of our cars to get more advertsing dollars.

Okay. I'll admit using agree cardomain does have a benefit or two for the users.
I still have my cardomain page. Just went to it yesterday for the first time in a long time. I stopped going there a while ago because they stopped allowing members to link their own pics to other sites. Now I see they cover some of your pictures with an ad. Which kinda turns me off even more.

I originally joined cardomain to link my pics. If I can't link my pics from them anymore, what good is their site? Not allowing people to link from their site just hurts them. Because that's less people going to their site.

Good point. But other sites usually have something to offer that benefits you in return. Forums and clubs have the obvious. Other photo hosting sites (like photobucket) allow you to use them to post your pictures on forums and such. Granted, photobucket doesn't have the nice window dressing like cardomain. So that's where cardomain does have an advantage.

I would describe it as a virtual car show. There are virtual car trophies to be won on ther too. No money to be won, but it won't cost you anything to be on there or enter either. A car show cost you the gas to go there but you don't get re-imbursed that necessarily.

Some people make a social thing out of it too, but for the most part CarDomain does seem a little self-grandious and phony too me...
