I've wanted a truck for quite some time now, but since I got the Monte that's kinda gone away. Well, it's back!! I live down the street from a Dodge dealership and they had an 06 Ram 1500 Quad Cab in the lot that had got me wanting one in a bad way. It's "Cool Vanilla" (a fancy way of saying "off white"), has the 5.7L Hemi V8, sitting on 22's, lowered 2" up front and 4" out back, is the "Big Horn Edition". I stopped in one day to see how much they wanted for it, 39k...... a bit out of my price range. I had been talking about it so much that my gf wanted to see what it was all about so we stopped in to look and when a salesman approached I politely told him that I didn't want to wasted his time, that I wasn't there to buy, I just wanted to show my gf the truck. He then said, "what would you say if I could get you this truck for half of the sticker price?" I immediately said "can I sign the paperwork before you change your mind?!" It turns out he didn't mean that particular truck, he meant an 06 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn Edition.........which is still a hell of a deal..........but they didn't have one in cool vanilla so I didn't get it[:@]

IMO, no other truck out there comes close to looking as good as the new Rams. Once I get serious about getting a truck, I'll go test drive the others(F150, Chevy 1500.........no import trucks for me) and see how they compare to the Dodge. But at this point, the Ram is the front runner.

 

So, does this mean your getting rid of the Monte??


That Hemi is a really nice motor.. And the trucks not bad either. My wife wants one too.

 

personally i like my silverado 1500hd

 

the dodge ram trucks are awesome!!! lots of power and very comfortable

but you have to get the hemi!! no questions asked..lol

 

Im a Chevy man I guess. All of my relatives have Silverado 1500s. They are nice trucks. I don't like the interior of the Dodges as much as the Fords and Chevys. However the 2007 Silverado looks like crap so I would say if I ever get a truck it will be a Ford F-150 Crew Cab.

I'm actually a truck man by nature as well. I plan to trade in my wife's Saturn VUE to by an Avalanche. my ride before I moved to the U.S. was a 1990 Silverado 4x4 aka "My Pride and Joy." I'm a straight up Chevy man as well, but I'd drive a Dodge before a Ford!

Yellow_Monte, is the 2007 much different from the current style? I haven't seen it yet.
