Yea, I don't know. I never liked the Malibu -- I felt it's always been a very boring looking car and similar to a lot of other cars I see on the road.
The 8 speed transmission sounds interesting but lets be honest, the whole "go green" energy thing is questionable as it is. It's probably one of the biggest scams around. I would never buy a hybrid vehicle but I think one day the gov't will probably be telling us what we can drive and even then, driving will be vastly different than how we drive now.
Why does GM make the Malibu and the Impala? I personally think its brutal to have BOTH of those cars in the lineup. I don't get it. Why not make a RWD new Monte that is actually made how it should be.
