TVM...are those #'s right for the 86 gn...0-60 in 4.9?

Thats incredible! I knew they were fast but thats really fast. Does the turbo kick in that much more than the supercharger?

Looking at the 1/4 times that number would be pretty close. Unfortunatly I was only able to find one source for this info. I'll research it a bit futher to confirm it though. There are a couple of GN & GNX forums out there that should be able to confirm this data.

Each has it's ups and downs.

Superchargers: Pro's: Power throughout the RMP scale. "No lag" Cons: You have to use some of those added horses to run the supercharger cause it runs off the crank shaft. "Parasitic Power Loss"....

Turbo: Pro's: No "Parasitic Power Loss" Higher boost levels. Cons: Heat. Lag time, most turbos don't spool till around 1700 - 2000 RPM.

Here is a link to a Turbo vs Supercharger overview. ~ L I N K ~

i talekd to a guy at the track who had a drive in drive out 69 cutlass...on DOTs...8.85...!

blown 500cid, top mount blower...28psi of boost, which he called "light boost"...1380hp without the bottle...and 500shot direct port injection....so, just shy of 1900hp on the bottle..and i think the parasitic loss of a top mount on that vehicle was like 15%? something lik that?? this car was amazing..AND show quality...4 foot wheelstand on DOTs...
