Default Alero Swap

Hey everyone, I know this is the MC Forum but I know you guys are smart and you also drive other vehicles. I'm planning on swapping a L67 into an Alero having the engine backed by the GM F40 6 speed transaxel from the Pontiac G6. I was wondering if any of you would be able to help me out with building motor and tranny mounts. Also if you have any other suggestions they are greatly appreciated.

I agree, I don't know anything about that tranny, but if it's ranked like any other GM tranny, a "40" won't hold up to the power of the L67. I'd check the HP and torque ratings, and search the forums for others that have mod'ed their engines to the power levels a L67 puts out.

Supposedly the F40 is rated to hold 300lb ft torque. If it actually will is the question. Will the L67 even fit in the engine bay of an alero? Ive never seen the swap done.

The Alero is the Oldsmobile cousin to the Pontiac Grand Am. I had a 99 Grand Am as most people here already know. I think if you could manage to stuff an L67 into the Alero's engine bay, you'd have one heck of a sleeper.

If memory serves me correctly, the 3400 engine was pretty tight in that engine bay. I would love to see if someone could do it though.

If you don't get the answers you need here, try www.grandamgt.com
It's a forum for Grand Am/Alero owners. If nobody there can help you, I don't think anyone can.

Please do keep us updated on your project.

I'm a member of another forum and people there have swapped the L67 into Grand Ams. So I know it possible.
