A shop can try to claim that a modification voided a warranty. However the Magnuson Moss Act gives us rights to do our own maintenance or install parts without voiding the warranty.

A shop can claim a particular mod/part voided the warranty and be within the guidelines of the MMA. The wording of the warranty itself will be the determining factor whether or not a mod/part voids it. As example, a company cannot state in a warranty that you must use a particular brand for a repair. However, if they state in the warranty that they recommend a particular brand or facility (such as an authorized dealer) for repair then the warranty can be voided if you don't adhere to that recommendation.

I did releave my windows and power moon roof guides/slides...with ky...(Kentucky yellow wagonwheel lube)
But found out...it will dry up and get sticky...
So the dealer recommended I use liquid graphite!

Ooops! I'm out - the stang's computer is reflashed. If I need to get any warranty work done I can load my stock tune back in.

I'm thinking about waiting on the Camaro for the warranty to stop before tuning it.
