Default 350 CID question

Anyone Know how much modification I will need to do to get a 350 into the place where a 305 HO was? New mounts? Different Trans?

All I'm gonna say is..

I recently rebuilt this 81 truck and put a 350 four bolt in it. The old 305 gave out so I gave her some new life. I am running the original transmission and had no problems bolting it together. The only problem you may run into is the flywheel. Do you have the flywheel with the engine?

Well the 305 is complete, looks like its going to need help.. I can see a crack in the venturi, thats gonna cause headaches later.. Right now its a no start because the carb's choke is closed. When you open the choke, she almost starts.. I know I also have to do rocker covers gaskets, and possibly some new points..

I know where I can aquire a 350 which might be easier to repair and modify if its on the stand already.. The aftermarket just doesnt seem to be as wide for the 305 as it is the 350..

The 305 has the flywheel, but its still in there, so I havent got any idea as to the condition right now, but if the condition of the engine is any indication of its condition... It looks grim.

Just make sure the flywheel is with the 350 if you get it. Chevy made two different tooth patterns and the starter has to have the right one. I don't know whats up with the picture not posting, but I tried!

Ahh.. Well that makes sense. Now.. What is the difference between a 4 bolt and 2 bolt I hear? Im assuming this is the main bearings.. I think this has a 700R in it.. Will that make a difference.

If it's a car the 350 came out of the flywheel should be the same, a truck is differant depending on the year, A four bolt mian was for Hi reving engines If you don't intend to mod to much and get over 6000 RPM a two bolt is fine, But a four bolt will take 8000 RPM no problem, Either way can't go wrong with a 350 over a 305. The only other thing I can think of would be the oil pan but you can use the one off the 305. (Trucks also had a differant oil pan) Happy wrenching
