Member's, which one(s) do you like ? want ?

From the beginning, choosing the AUTOMOBILE All-Stars has been about cutting through the PR BS, the hype, and the noise in search of a group of cars with class, importance, and desirability.
That will never change.
We have tinkered with the format this year, however. From now on, All-Stars will be the only star cars, they’re our Automobiles of the Year. We’re also now picking only from new cars, so no more repeat winners. But we’ll continue to keep it simple. No complicated criteria, no price caps, no categories.
We drive them. We argue about them. We choose them. Done.

Bentley Shows Grand Convertible Concept in L.A.

Nov 18, 2014Tags:

Bentley is considering a convertible version of its Mulsanne luxury sedan, and gave the public a taste of how that car might look with the Grand Convertible concept shown ahead of the 2014 Los Angeles auto show.
Based on the 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed, the Grand Convertible is an enormous droptop with a 530-hp, twin-turbo 6.75-liter V-8 engine. The show car is finished in Bentley's Sequin blue paint that was created to match the sequin on a customer's dress, with the hood and windshield surround finished in a silver "liquid metal." The wheels are hand-polished before being bolted on to the car.

The interior of the Bentley Grand Convertible features four seats covered in diamond-quilted, hand-stitched cream leather. With the massive convertible top stowed, a tonneau cover made of walnut burr wood rests behind the rear seats. Book-matched and made entirely by hand, Bentley says it's the largest single piece of wood veneer it has ever fitted to a car.
Though the Bentley Grand Convertible is a concept car, there are obvious signs the company will build it if moneyed shoppers express interest.

"We are eagerly awaiting the response of our customers to this car," Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said in a statement. "We will ensure that this car -- if it reaches the roads -- will be a highly exclusive, extremely limited collector’s piece."
Adding a convertible version of the Mulsanne would expand the Bentley lineup. The luxury brand currently only offers one convertible, a topless version of the two-door Bentley Continental GT. The Bentley Mulsanne is currently offered only as a sedan.
