I personally dont like the look of that. it looks nothing like a monte carlo, it looks like a Mitsubishi lancer!! No thank you, keep the long body style in my opinion, looks better

The g8 is the the caprice. The caprice is built on the longer wheelbase statesman.as of right now there are no plans for the caprice to be available for the public. Gm has been rumored to bring the g8 to chevy ever sense pontiac left, but I don't think it will be here till another couple years when the commedore is redone. And if it does come over, the logical names would be lumina (from the mid east) or chevelle

True, but the 6th gen montes and the 2000 impalas look alot different to me and that dosent bother me too much

i kinda dig the look of that car in to first post. not bad for a 4 door! i dont see the monte comming back. that car doesnt look anything like a montecarlo. just let them rest in peace for a little while. they may come back eventualy!

[QUOTE=03SSLE;397116]I agree...but they (GM) put the 'SS' option on a 4 door Impala.
This was not the first time Chevy put the "SS" option on a four door. In 1973 they put it on a Chevelle wagon. I must admit it was a cool wagon.

Indeed there was an SS Chevelle wagon.
It seems like there is about a 4-6 month pattern of someone posting a bit on this forum about a potential return of the Monte Carlo.
And it's time for me to make my traditional statement as well.
Someone already posted a 1974 Nova 4 door.
Gregg probably knows how Dodge put its Charger name plate to shame in 1984.
Ford-Mercury let its Cougar go from an up-class V8 powered luxury car that was comparable to the Mustang to a car comporable to a Thunderchicken to this POS in the 2000s.
So lets make a fwe things official once again...
1) The Monte Carlo is not coming back. I've even heard the Impala is being dropped to push the Malibu.
2) They've got the Camaro, the Corvette, the Malibu, the Volt, the pick up truck, and there is just no room for a Monte Carlo unless it is either a mini van or some weird @$$ cross over vehicle.
The Nova fans want their Nova back. The Chevelle guys want their car back. We're a dying breed here. Let the car have the honor it once had and let the Monte Carlo rest on its laurels, like the Chevelle, Bel Air, the Nova, and the Chevette.
