thanks for the ideas everyone...... and I'll make sure not to lock myself in the trunk! At this point I'm not to concerned, I'll check it periodically and make sure it's not very bad, I think it's something that can wait for now, I hope..........

Chris you may want to check the wheel wells too. I had a car with a hole in one of the seams and when it would rain the trunk would fill up with water off the tires. It is most likely the trunk seal tho. Also the trunk has an emergency release so you can't get locked in there.lol

AW Lou. Now you went and spoiled it for me. Ha ha ha ha ha I betting on one of two things. Trunk seal or holes from the spoiler. I need to know CHRIS. Get back with us and with some pixs. Thanks Buddy. Rick

Chris, I would definitely get all of the water out that you can, and just dump some cups of water on the car in various spots and look in through your rear seats. That will not be fun in the winter.

I wonder how long it took for that amount of water to accumulate. My guess would be like others have mentioned...the trunk lid seal. I would imagine if it is the seal the trunk floor carpet must be saturated for that amount of water to be in the spare tire compartment. I'd dry the trunk out asap. If not it will soon start smelling like mold.
