Thank you! I'm not a fan of the white myself, but I do the best with what I have.

Nice Camaro man, good runs.

2.73's are nasty from a dig, my old 87 Trans Am with a 5.0 had 2.73's and I could beat a cammed LT1 off the line every time, till about 30 MPH anyway

Thank you.

But I think you might be confused with the gears. The lower the gears the slower the car, usually. The higher the gears the better the car will launch, 3.23's will launch better than 2.73's, just as 3.42's will launch better than 3.23's. Unless you get to 4.10's, then you'll need some sticky tires otherwise you'll just sit and spin for awhile.

I've raced a few LT1 Camaros with my LS1, it's amazing the difference in power between the two. However, I never have raced a cammed LT1.

Kept the tires from spinning too much and made more use of 1st gear torque to get me going faster, 2.73s definitely helped my stoplight racing.

My GTO has 3.42 gears, what heads are on ur LS1 are they 241 or the older ones?

I'm pretty sure they are the 241 heads. In 2001 they gave the LS1 the LS6 intake, the LQ4 cam, went to bigger fuel injectors, and switched the heads, this resulted in a slight power increase from the older LS1's. I'm pretty sure the LS1 was mostly unchanged for the rest of its life, so it should be the same in terms of specs of your GTO.
