The '04 is a nice car all around, fast and of good quality. I'm just not really drawn to the Dale Jr. exterior appearance package that they put on these cars. Dressing them up like a poorly done Nascar doesn't appeal to me all that much.

That's what is great about GM & the Chevrolet Motor Division is that they have produced a different color & options in every generation that came off the assembly line.

There's a Monte Carlo for EveryOne .....Several don't like all the graphic's, but many/many do....

I like Monte's that are ghost'ed & have the badging removed, but several don't like it that way....I `do...

prices that gives the owners a lot of Bang 4 the $'s 4-Real ~>Sure : )

 

You're right Space, there are a lot of people who do like it, they're trying to appeal to every crowd with all the different Monte Carlos they came out with. Come to think of it, the 6th generation Monte Carlo probably had more special/limited editions than any other car I can think of. You had the High Sport/Pace Car/Dale Sr. Intimidator/Jeff Gordon/Dale Jr./Supercharged SS/ and probably at least 1 or 2 others I forgot about.

 

I think they are very sharp looking Montes, I could do without the Dale Jr. references, just as a red monte with black lips and those stripes and wheels, I think that's a killer car.

 

Agreed. If I got one, all the Jr. stuff would be taken off.

 

I can see people wanting to keep the stripes and wheels, and ditching the rest of the Dale Jr stuff.

The major problem with the Dale Jr, Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart editions is the potential to be outdated. The Tony Stewart and Dale Jr editions already suffer from that. Both guys drive different car numbers now. That's just one problem.

Another major issue is some people like the stripes, but don't like nascar stuff on their car. It's all a matter of taste. That's why GM made the 2004 supercharged Monte available in many colors without any nascar stuff on them. At a cheaper price too!

If one of you guys does buy that 04 Monte and decides to remove all the Dale Jr stuff from it, I'll take the headrests and signature floormats. I'll even take the front licence plate delete too (I know someone looking for one). LOL.
