Guess I'm quite a ways behind as this is still my first car of my own. Hope that I'll be able to keep it till the engine dies, by that time I plan on being able to swap in a nice LS line engine, of course that wont be for a long while.

 

the fastest by far was the stang... with the stroker and a 6 speed with a sc i turned a 8.65 in the 1/4 then got barred for 3 years for no cage, i miss the bandit the most, but the 66 nova i have to find time to go get it.. it belonged to my father who unfortunately passed away in 2005 from cancer at the young age of 49 most of the other vechicles were swapped around and traded.. the bandit was my first car and had it taken away for being a teenager in it.. but i plan to keep the monte for a long time. i am only 25 but have been through some cars. Fastest on the road was 160 in the stang... got off of that one do not know how but no speeding tix at all just 1 out of date tags tix.

 

 

168 trap. no pics unfortunately... a buddy drove the car one night following me in the sho and missed a shift and at 8600rpm the subframe connectors gave way and twisted the body when he found third... totaled. but i do have the motor, sc, 6 speed jericho, rear end 12' moroso. and all wiring, fuel delivery etc... am in process of procuring a donor 96 v-6 to turn into a killer street car.. but i want to get the nova straight first.. its about an hour from here in a barn needing a front clip.. fortunately before he passed we found a 66 4- door that had been demolished in the rear and took the front clip off. same color and trim duck-poo green with no chrome as it's the business class. the only parts that were damaged were the grille, headlight buckets, hood and right fender, pops decided it would be a good idea to take down some fence with the car one night after an 18- hour shift. The bandit was in immaculate condition she was the 6.6 with a manual tranny black with gold eagle, black interior with gold trim and bandit on the passenger side.... still would have her if dad wouldnt have caught me misbehaving.. he saw me take off onto a on-ramp and drop her into second and pull off a powerslide that would have made burt renolds blush.... needless to say when i got home i lost the keys and two days later after the 4-sale sign went up she was gone.. the guy who has it now wants me to buy it but he wants 20k... worth every penny but he only bought it for 4k

 

8.65 on the 1/4 with no cage it's no wonder you got thrown out of the track.

A guy who was moderator of the '55/6/7 Chevy modified board on Chevt Talk owned a '55 Sedan that went under 10 in the 1/4 at a track. I think it was a SuperChevy event and he thought he'd take the car down the track just for the h--l of it. He said he had to do some fast talking to be able to stay at the car show cause the track people wanted to throw him out for no gage.

 

I was nice the first 5 runs i stayed in 4th and let off at 5000rpm and coasted to the line. some guy in a dodge viper wanted to go, so i let it all out and got put out. didnt learn my speed or time until a friend called after they looked at the car they told me i had to leave then, no if's ands or butts

OK - let me try to remember . . .

72 Pinto - bought in 73 for $1,300 and couldn't tear it up. I tried. Cost $4 to fill it up with gas.
63 Chevy II - 283, solid cam, 2x4's, 4 speed, 4.88 rear gears- awesome power but not very streetable
67 GTO - 400 c.i., 4 speed - lots of fun to drive
66 Ford Fairlane, didn't keep it long
80 (81?) z-28. Piece of crap.
66 Mercury -I foget the actual name of the car - traded an 8 track tape player for it and sold it a year later for $67 and an 8 pack of babyBulls.
67 Dodge Coronet. Had the swivel bucket seats from an early Monte in it.Anyone remember them?
