The first 2016 Shelby GT350 will be sold for charity
Ford and Barrett-Jackson will donate proceeds to charity.
Ford
We don't even have exact horsepower or torque figures for the GT350 yet (Ford is only 'fessing up to "more than 500" horsepower and "more than 400" lb-ft of torque at this time. - Ed.), but we do know exactly when the first publicly-available 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 will be sold. It'll be on Saturday, January 17th, at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, when lot No. 3008 goes under the hammer. The interesting thing is, lot No. 3008 is definitely a GT350, but it's not a specific car. It's essentially the right to build a car in the color and with whatever available packages the buyer wants.

It's the same basic concept as the sale of the first normal 2015 Mustang, almost a year exactly from the GT350's date with destiny. That GT went for $300,000.
The good news is that it's a no reserve auction; the bad news is that there's roughly a snowball's chance in hell that it'll sell for a reasonable market price. It's probable that the GT350 will beat its less-manic stablemate's performance last year in Scottsdale.

As with the GT last year, the proceed's of the 2015 GT350 auction will benefit JDRF, which funds Type 1 Diabetes research. There's not much at the auction listing, but you can take a look if you'd like
