2016 Chevy Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition: Motorsports-inspired

Adding a new dimension of cool to the hottest offering in its lineup, Chevrolet has unveiled the competition-inspired 2016 Corvette ZO6 C7.R Edition. "Corvette Racing's legacy and technology were significant influences on the development of the Corvette Z06 and the new C7.R Edition honors the direct link between the racecar and the production model," said Harlan Charles, Corvette product and marketing manager. "It also advances Chevrolet's plan to offer special-edition models that offer a unique, personal ownership experiences, which become important parts of Corvette's legacy."
Exclusively exhilarating
Based on top-line 3LZ trim and slated hit showrooms later this year with a 650-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8, Chevy will build only 500 Corvette Z06 C7.R models in coupe and convertible body styles. Exterior colors will be limited to the new-for-2016 Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat or Black and all will come with the Z07 Performance Package that adds low-mass -- and bright yellow -- Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors, adjustable front/rear aero elements and black-with-yellow staggered-size spun-aluminum wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The C7.R Edition sports a dedicated graphics package that adds Spectra Gray Metallic grilles and vents plus a visible carbon fiber hood section and ground effects elements. Inside, the cabin is rendered in Black leather and suede microfiber trim with set off with yellow contrast stitching and carbon fiber accents. A Competition Sport Seat and Corvette Racing sill plates round out the look. Each car comes with a serialized CR.7 Edition plaque and an indoor car cover with C7.R graphics.

Like other 2016 Corvette Z06 models, the C7.R Edition will offer a new front curb view parking camera option and a power-cinching hatch/trunk latch. Pricing for the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
