Hi TiredVette & welcome to the MCF
No, I've never done it before, but hopefully one of our member's maybe able to help you `if they know..(?)...Check back on your thread to see if anyone can answer...
You may have to be creative 4-Sure....Do you have a wiring diagram for both models ? Good Luck

i have a diagram for the 81 car but not the 87. basics for the car are 468 big block race gas motor,th400 3600 stall, 9in ford w/h case detroit locker and a set of 3:89 gears from jimmy johnsons 48 car. it still has never run yet but finally soon it will, i'm almost ready to start it up. by the way if anyone out there wants to part with their cheetah shifter 7002b let me know i'm still looking for that. i have just about everything else.

general specs on the motor are.... 4 bolt .60 over block 12.5 to 1 pistons, total seal rings, .600 lift comp mechanical comp cam,7416 steel crank, 7/16 steel rods, ferrea wrist pins,gm 990 iron heads w/2.25 intakes and 1.88 exhausts, edelbrock air gap intake, 4781 850 holley carb, lit off by a msd 6al and a msd distributor, and for the exhaust hooker super comps heading down to a 3 in. all the way back pypes exhaust w/a pair of stainless flowmasters keeping things relatively quiet. it's your basic old style LS-7 454 that was destined for the corvettes and chevelles back in '70. it should go pretty well... and it is a very stock appearing street car.
