I've got a rebuilt 3.8 in my 2001 monte carlo ss. What can I do to increase performance in it. I;ve already ordered a K&N CAI.

 

Youre not gonna like to hear this but you shouldnt have ordered the K&N. I believe there is actually reports of losing power with those, in these specific cars. If its possible try to return it and look into building a fender well intake. You can make one for like $50. That route youll actually be pulling in ambient air instead of hot air from under the hood.

Onto your main concern tho... Whats your budget and what exactly do you want? I assume power? Whats your skill level? Look into top swapping it which is supercharging it. U-bend delete is very easy and actually gives a bit of power. Cat delete if you dont have inspections.

Poly dogbone inserts, coilovers, lower profile tires will all give the car a better feel.

Agreed with the above. We need to know your goals / bounds to give any useful info. No reason for us to propose a $15k high end turbo build setup if your mod budget is $100, you know?

One thing to keep in mind is that NA 3800s are notoriously bad at responding to mods. The bang for the buck is generally horrendous. So before you dump too much into it, you need to think of the long term plans.
