Deer can really do a number on cars. I was driving my 02 SS home from work after dark, and talking to my wife on the phone to let her know I was coming home. I jokingly told her I'd better let her go before I hit a cow or something. 5 minutes later I see ahead in the distance some eyes reflecting in my headlights so I start slowing down. Unfortunately the semi coming from the other direction didn't see them and hit a deer. The impact sent the deer flying into my lane and sliding toward my car at around 60MPH. I couldn't swerve to avoid it or I'd have hit the semi head-on or the trees on the other side so I ended up running over the deer and it got wedged up under the front end. The State Patrol showed up and asked where the deer was. I had to explain what had happened and direct him to the underside of my poor vehicle. He said we should probably get it out from under there to which I inquired, "How?" He asked if the car still started, which it did. He then told me to try backing up. I was able to get the car off the deer and he pulled it off to the side of the road and after completing the report, I was able to drive the car home. I knew the front bumper was going to need replaced but had no idea how bad the damage was until I took it into the shop and they put it on the lift. Long story short, everything from the radiator support forward had to be replaced. Thankfully insurance covered all of the $7K aside from the $100 deductible. Then, not 3 months after getting the car back, I hit 2 raccoons walking across the street here in town. Luckily, they just dented in the front bumper cover which I was able to pop back out. If I never hit another animal for the rest of my life, it'll be too soon!

Nice job on bringing your's back from the scrapyard. I always hate to see perfectly repairable vehicles totaled out.

Looks good!
