Power steering problems
So I just picked up an '85 SS with a big block swap to a 400. I thought the power steering belt was loose as at low speeds turning sucks but as I accelerate it gets easier. The belt appears to be plenty tight and the pump has plenty of fluid. Am I to assume that the pump is dying or am I missing something?
Hi BigKev, & Welcome to the MCF Family.
From just your posted word discription, it sounds like
the pump could be going : (
Is it making any moan'in sounds when you make your turns ?
Would love to see pic's of your Monte 4-Sure.
Good Luck

I am going to run by the junk yard to pick one up this weekend. Need to change a header gasket, front coil springs, and find a recessed bowl air cleaner. It is a project car but runs REAL good and the interior isnt trashed. All the window seals are shot and the A/C isnt hooked up.....NC can get mighty hot in the summer! The body is straight with two superficial small spots of rust. Got a good deal on it though. I'll take some pics and post them this weekend.
HAHA! I cant hear anything over the headers to 3" tubes to two chamber flowmasters!
