Welcome to the forum. A lot of people switch out their 305 for a 350 for more power and torque.

i would say a 350 is the way to go, they are relitivly cheep, plentifull, & have an enormus aftermarket for preformance / dress up parts. open up a jegs / summit catalouge & 80 % of the stuff fits an SBC 350, plus it should bolt into your car. you could build your own, buy one pre-built ( some great deals to be had with a little searching) or look into a turnkey crate engine.

any gen 1 small block chevy will fit no prob. i would get a crate motor that makes a ton of torque.

Hi Dontay, & Welcome to the MCF Family.
I suggest switch'in 2 a 5.7L "350"
Unlimited performance parts, but a proven engine.

Like everyone else has said...

Go with a 5.7L Chevy....They are GREAT engines, and very very popular! The sky is the limit with things you can do to the Chevy 350!

if you wanted to you could even go big block... i mean if you wanted to be crazy about it... but the 350 is the best bet, you can bore and stroke it to 383 and produce 400+ hp easy N/A... if you get forced induction you will be over 550 hp easy...
