Welcome!
As far as mods, I think you can find just about anything you need to know from the folks here. Heck, there's probably a thread about almost everything you could do here.
Give us an idea what you're looking to do and what kinda budget and I am more then certain, you'll get an ear full of opinions and help!

Thanks you all, for the nice welcome! I'm a big fan of the Rolling Stones ("Paint It Black") but if I do change the color it would be red. Right now I kinda like the bright white - I added black pinstripes along the sides and they really emphasize the Monte curves.
MillerMonte - by asymmetrical graphics do you mean like only on one side? Or maybe a decal on one edge of the windshield but not on the other? That's an interesting idea!
Taz - my main project is customizing the car's appearance. After that I'll think about performance and what I can afford. I'd like to beef up the sound but not to the point where cops follow me or neighbors get upset. What happens if the resonator is removed?

Generally if you do a typical "cat back" exhaust system modification, you won't run into any major problems. This is a relatively simple thing to do for those simply looking to change the sound coming out the back, and some slight performance improvement.
A lot of people here have the 3800 Series II V6 engine. Many of them went for a more performance enhancing modification project. They've replaced the entire exhaust system from the downpipe all the way back. Combined with a Cold Air Intake system under the hood. This usually causes the engine to throw a check engine error code that will require the computer to be reprogrammed to completely get rid of.

Here's what I would do Angie. Save your money. Keep the car for what it is. Take that money and buy you a Cheap mid 80's Monte Carlo SS. You can get a nice Notchback for $5000. IMOO, In My Own Opinion. Money well spent!

Angie I never officially welcomed you to the MCF. I figured seeing as someone brought your post forward I could do that now, motto mention it adds one more to my post count. So welcome Angie.

Gregg, thanks for welcoming me to the Forum, even at this late date. Now I have one more to add to my post count!!! Have a great weekend down there in sunny Florida - it's rainy and cold and cloudy and dreary and icy and depressing and yucky and murky here in St. Louis. I think the temp. is 25* below. Feels like 23* below.
