Default Newbie questions regarding a 2000 Monte Carlo SS?

I'm not essentially a newbie to Monte Carlos, I had a 74 a few years back. But, I am new to the newer versions of the cars. Always liked them and their sleek looks, but don't know much about them. Anyway, I am looking at one currently and am pretty intent on buying it and planning to go look at it in person sometime this week. It's a 2000 Monte Carlo SS with 170k miles on the odometer. How many miles is considered too high for these cars and engines? The car seems to be and looks in real decent, well cared-for shape. He says the A/C and heated seats all work great, only thing really wrong with it is the tires a little wore out. What kind of gas mileage can I expect with this? He had the intake done and struts replaced about 30k ago he told me. Is the price right or should I run? He claims that they book for $4800 currently.
Anyway, I don't wanna make this post too long, but, here's a link to the car I am looking at on Craigslist.

2000 CHEVY MONTE CARLO SS
Thanks a bunch for helping me out and sorry for the newbish questions!

With that many miles I would think his asking price is way too high and there is no way it books at $4800 being a 2000. I had an 2003 and 3 years ago it booked at 3500 with 115k on it.
