Default Newbie with an oldie

Hello all. Been browsing the forum for a week now. Just picked up a 1998 Monte Ls. Took it to my mechanic and he found quite a few things wrong with her, but she sure is pretty.......much like my wife. I'm going to bite the bullet and get her fixed.......unlike my wife. Just trying to figure out how to convert it to a dual exhaust (Flowmaster Super 40's?) and can't seem to find a CAI for her. Glad to be here.

Welcome!!

I don't think there is much in terms of a CAI or FWI for the 5th gen Montes. But I do remember one member has an item in our FWD Tech Guides about it (down side is, you need to relocate the battery first).

Here's the link:

Welcome to the forum.

The Catback duals are a breeze if you know someone at a muffler shop that does custom work...

My Z-34 came with factory catback duals...
I just improved them by removing the Resonator and stock mufflers..
I am currently running Accelerator Mufflers with tails and 3 1/2 Inch slash cut chrome tips.

I may have an extra set of tips from a 2003 Monte that are Chrome stainless 2 1/2 inch.
That would look killer on your LS!

Definately the Link that Jason (Maniac) posted of AUGI's CAI system is kick butt!

Welcome to the forum and all things Monte Carlo!
Were here to help.
Thanks for joining the MCF Family!
Keep us posted on your progress.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Looking forward to getting the Monte done and posting pics. STUMPMI thanks for the advice. Anyone know if converting single to duals on my LS will affect the performance? I get it, the LS stands for Lethally Slow. Just don't want to ruin the performance.
