newb w 1988 monte SS
hey, im new to this forum but not to forums in general. i just sold my right hand drive MR2 Turbo to get into this project. i dont have pics right now, but its a mint 1988 Monte Carlo SS Maroon/Orange. i bought it with 68000 kms on it from my fiance's dad for a VERY good price, and he is the only person that i can find in west Canada that has his for sale its pretty rare to see one here, so i bought it. it is completely stock right now and hasnt been driven in 5 years, just parked in a garage and worked on to bring it back to mint. my plans are the obvious intake/headers/exhaust, and something alot of people dont do, putting it on f/b/s/s air bags. hopefully ill be keeping this project for a long time. just so i know, what did you guys pay for your 88 SS's? and what brand/where to buy the i/h/e for good prices? thanks and i hope to stick around for a while.

hey man welcome to the forum !!
i bought my 88 ss 6years ago but it is not my first and i paid 2000$cnd for mine great deal never winter driven that is hard to find around here (eastern canada )
as for the parts i bought a edelbrock airgap intake for my stock 305 ho but i had no plans to kip it for long and then i got headman headers and fro the exhaust flowmaster makes a nice kit manderal bent i got mind 3 inch but 2.5 would be enuf for a mild motor
when you do the intake, exhaust, headers you should also get a good rebuild of your carb and upgread the ignition system and maybe go with some 1.6 roller tiped rockers to help that cam

Welcome Cory, from Canada, to the Monte Carlo Forum. It's a pleasure to see classic Monte owners here, as most MC forums are dedicated to only the late model Montes, and I personally like them ALL
! Enjoy, and make sure you use the search engine if you need a quick reference, otherwise we welcome the discussion.
Let's see some pic's of what ya got.
